How to Write a School Prospectus That Brings Admissions

Fedigma Team··6 min read

A prospectus is more than a list of facilities. It is your chance to tell families who you are, what you believe in and why their child will thrive with you. Whether printed or shared as a PDF on WhatsApp, a good prospectus can tip the decision in your favour.

What to include

  • A welcome message from the principal or founder
  • Your vision, values and teaching approach
  • Classes or courses offered and the curriculum or board
  • Facilities, safety measures and transport
  • Faculty strengths and student support
  • Achievements, results and student life
  • The admission process, key dates and documents required
  • Fee information or how to request it
  • Contact details, map and social media

Write for parents, not inspectors

Use warm, simple language. Instead of listing "state-of-the-art infrastructure", describe what students actually do in your labs, library and playground. Specific details are more convincing than big claims.

Show, don’t just tell

Real photos of your students, teachers and campus build far more trust than stock images. Short quotes from parents and students add credibility.

Keep it easy to scan

Use clear headings, short paragraphs and plenty of white space. Parents often skim first, so put the most important information where it is easy to find.

Make it work on phones

Many parents will read your prospectus as a PDF on their phone. Keep the file size small, use readable font sizes and create a version that looks good on a small screen.

End with a clear next step

Close with an invitation to visit, book a campus tour or contact the admissions office, with a phone number, WhatsApp link and website address.

Keep it current

Update your prospectus every year with new results, achievements, photos and dates. An outdated prospectus gives the impression of an inactive institution.
